I wrote a story recently about Braves prospect Tyrell Jenkins, who has found inspiration from his mother, a cancer survivor who follows every pitch the right-hander throws now in the Minors. Jenkins allowed just two hits and struck out five over eight innings to help Gwinnett blank Durham, 5-0, on July 27.
“To see a smile on her face and see her happy from just doing something I love and having success with, it means the world,” Jenkins, the Atlanta Braves’ No. 4 prospect, told me.
