Army football unveiled its uniforms for the 2023 Army-Navy Game this week. showcasing a Nike design that honors the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division.
This was my third time getting the chance to photograph the Army-Navy uniform for West Point’s much-anticipated reveal — I also shot the team’s 1st Cavalry Division look on location in Hawaii in 2019 and the academy’s 2022 uniform that honored the 1942 invasion of North Africa by the 1st Armored Division.

The 2023 Army-Navy uniform tells the story of the soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division during the opening phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Marne Division’s participation in the initiation of offensive operations in Iraq, the longest and most rapid armored advance since the Second World War.
