Border War

Army hosted the Royal Military College last weekend, essentially Canada’s West Point equivalent. It was an exhibition game and Army dominated with a 9-1 win at a sold-out Tate Rink. Fun game to shoot, I used my 400mm f/2.8L lens for the first two periods and then switched to a 15mm fisheye for the final 20 minutes.

RMC wore helmets and visors rather than the black metal cages often used in U.S. college hockey, so it was nice to get some clear shots of their faces in this game. I used NeatImage to clean up the noise on some of these, and also shot the game at a lower ISO (2000, 2500) to reduce the noise I experienced in my previous game. Still not crazy with the results, but they were better (through the glass).
