Army’s big weapon

Army had the largest wide receiver in the nation this past season in Alejandro Villanueva, a converted lineman who has great hands and caught all of the Black Knights’ passing touchdowns this season. Villanueva was recently selected to play in the annual East-West Shrine Game at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Army ran a photo I took of Ali for that preview… here’s a few more of the big man:

He was also pretty photogenic — and easy to spot on the field, at 6-foot-10, 283. Army honored him before the team’s final home game against VMI at Michie Stadium, along with other graduating seniors:

One of my favorite shots of the senior co-captain was this closeup of him getting set for a play with grey Corps of Cadets behind him. This was also during Army’s final home game against Virginia Military Institute:

Here’s some more photos from that game against VMI. There’s also a fantastic video from CBS College Sports that profiles Villanueva during his senior year.
