Too early for lacrosse?

I shot Army’s lacrosse season opener last weekend at a snow-filled Michie Stadium in West Point. Army beat Virginia Military Institute (VMI) 11-9 on a chilly but pretty nice, sunny day.

Olympic connections

I’m glued to the Vancouver Olympics this week and it’s really making me want to shoot skiing again. I had the incredible opportunity of shooting the New York state high school skiing championships a couple years ago up in Lake Placid, N.Y., the home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games.

Army’s new linebacker

Army kicked off it’s spring workout/practice “season” today at West Point (it snowed) and one notable bit of news is that starting fullback Kingsley Ehie will now be a linebacker heading into the 2010 fall season.

Jeter, Mo will have to wait

A lot is being made this past week or so about the Yankees’ impending contract talks with captain Derek Jeter and closer Mariano Rivera. That’s nothing new — New York media is a joke and will inflate anything they can with drama.

Pink hoops at West Point

Being it was Valentine’s Day (ugh) and I needed to get my mind off of that fact, I packed up my gear in the Escape and drove up the Palisades to West Point yesterday for my first Army women’s basketball game.

There’s still plenty of time to get out and look for bald eagles this winter in the New York area, and I thought a map of the Hudson River region with some hot spots would be helpful.
