Celebrating Stony Point’s historic battle

This past weekend marked the 236th anniversary of the Battle of Stony Point, an American Revolutionary War clash in which Americans, in an attack planned by Gen. George Washington, retook the fort at Stony Point on New York’s Hudson River. The site is now a state park and hosts an annual reenactment of the day, complete with cannons and musket fire.
